View Detailed InstructionsA 20 x 21 5/8 x 1 nominal return is one of those odd specs that comes from a custom or semi-custom HVAC installation. This Aerostar measures 20" x 21 5/8" x 1" actual, built to the exact spec without adjustment. MERV 8 covers standard residential filtration: dust, lint, pollen. MERV 11 handles pet households and mild allergy concerns. MERV 13 captures fine particulates including smoke, bacteria, and virus carriers - the recommended grade for households with asthma or chronic respiratory health issues. Pleated synthetic media with an electrostatic charge built into the fibers handles the filtration work. The pleats provide several times the surface area of a flat fiberglass filter at the same nominal size, which extends the service life to a 60-to-90-day window under typical residential conditions. The electrostatic charge catches sub-micron particles where mechanical filtration alone reaches its physical limits. Manufactured in the USA by Con-Air Industries at the Orlando, Florida facility. Cardboard frame, reinforced to maintain shape under blower suction. Custom-spec filters benefit most from dimensional precision because an off-spec filter leaves a gap where unfiltered air bypasses the media, which defeats the purpose of running any MERV grade above the baseline.
MERV 8 pleated filters utilize 100% synthetic media. They help capture airborne particles/allergens between 3-10 microns in size and are an ideal upgrade from standard disposable panel filters.
Each filter lasts up to one month and should be changed and disposed of regularly. Unlike other brands, our filters will not cut your hands

MERV ratings let you know the efficiency and level of filtration that an air filter can handle under normal circumstances. The higher the MERV rating, the finer the particles are that are filtered our of the air in your home. Many air filter retailers use MERV or a similar rating to rate their air filters.
MERV Rating is the primary rating system used in the industry, both domestically and internationally. Established by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, MERV rates a filter’s ability to capture and hold particles and pollutants.
MPR Rating is a rating system developed by 3M. It rates the manufacturer’s Filtrete product line and their ability to capture airborne particles smaller than 1 micron.
FPR Rating is a rating system developed by The Home Depot for brands sold through their stores, including Honeywell. It utilizes a color code and number scale (4 to 10) that closely resembles the MERV rating.
Overall rating: 4.5 / 5 from 2 reviews.

"Item seems made well and fits unit well. Also easy to order on site with timely delivery. Only wish measurements were stenciled on filter as well as a “would be nice to have” stencil of site to order."
