Measuring Length and Width (L x W). (If your filter is not a square, the smallest measurement goes first).
Measure the thickness (Depth) of your filter from front to back.
Put Your measurements together (L x W x D).
A filter’s true dimensions.

View Detailed InstructionsA nominal 17 1/2 x 21 x 1 return takes a filter at an actual 17 1/2" x 21" x 1", which is what this Aerostar is built to. Odd-sized returns in the 17 1/2 dimension show up in certain regional HVAC markets and on custom installations where the original installer used a non-standard grille opening. MERV 8 covers baseline residential filtration. MERV 11 handles pet households and most common allergen concerns. MERV 13 captures fine particulates including smoke, bacteria, and virus carriers - the grade for households with respiratory issues. Pleated synthetic media with an electrostatic charge built into the fibers handles the filtration work. The pleats provide substantially more surface area than a flat fiberglass filter would offer at the same nominal size, which is what extends the service life to 60 to 90 days under typical residential conditions. The electrostatic charge catches sub-micron particles where mechanical filtration alone reaches its physical limits. Manufactured by Con-Air Industries in Orlando, Florida. Cardboard frame, reinforced for shape retention under blower suction. Custom and odd-size returns benefit from dimensional precision - a filter that's even slightly off-spec leaves a gap for unfiltered air to bypass the media, which defeats the purpose of running a higher MERV grade in the first place.
MERV 8 pleated filters utilize 100% synthetic media. They help capture airborne particles/allergens between 3-10 microns in size and are an ideal upgrade from standard disposable panel filters.
Each filter lasts up to one month and should be changed and disposed of regularly. Unlike other brands, our filters will not cut your hands

MERV ratings let you know the efficiency and level of filtration that an air filter can handle under normal circumstances. The higher the MERV rating, the finer the particles are that are filtered our of the air in your home. Many air filter retailers use MERV or a similar rating to rate their air filters.
MERV Rating is the primary rating system used in the industry, both domestically and internationally. Established by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers, MERV rates a filter’s ability to capture and hold particles and pollutants.
MPR Rating is a rating system developed by 3M. It rates the manufacturer’s Filtrete product line and their ability to capture airborne particles smaller than 1 micron.
FPR Rating is a rating system developed by The Home Depot for brands sold through their stores, including Honeywell. It utilizes a color code and number scale (4 to 10) that closely resembles the MERV rating.
Overall rating: 5.0 / 5 from 3 reviews.
