This is the filter that ships on a range of older Carrier and Bryant residential systems, and the OEM-branded refill is one of the more expensive consumables in the Carrier parts catalog given the odd nominal dimensions. Aerostar's pleated equivalent meets the dimensional spec without modification. MERV 8 covers standard household filtration: dust, lint, pollen. MERV 11 handles pet households and most common allergen loads. MERV 13 captures fine particulates including smoke, bacteria, and virus carriers - the grade for households with respiratory issues. Pleated synthetic media with an electrostatic charge built into the fibers handles the filtration.
